London-via-Sweden singer-songwriter Akiine is gearing up to release her new EP, Neptune, next week on Brooklyn indie, Color Station. We've already heard its strikingly smooth lead single, 'Paranormal Activity', now it's the turn of 'Brixton' - a slightly more downcast cut than its dreamy predecessor. Opening up with burbled vocal chops, 'Brixton' soon straightens out with Akiine's gentle croon, fluttering synth notes, muted basslines and sleek guitar hooks coming together in perfect harmony. More thrillingly varied and nuanced than a Saturday spent roaming around the south London market it takes its name from. - DC
